Free drinks and sandwiches are just as much part of the standard service on board NIKI as are daily papers and magazines. Furthermore, it is possible to pre-book gourmet menus from Demel for all City Shuttle flights via the Internet. Passengers of NIKI and airberlin are credited with bonus miles on the top-bonus card for all flights.

The NIKI City Shuttle network serves numerous European cities such as Moscow, Rome, Milan, Zurich, Paris, Stockholm and Frankfurt, for example. Seasonal charter destinations served include Egypt, Greece and Spain. As a cooperation with airberlin, destinations around the globe are served at the best possible prices.

Since November 2003 – when NIKI was founded – the fleet of Airbus aircraft and the number of destinations have been increasing constantly. airberlin has had a 24% share of NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH since the start of 2004: the cooperation between airberlin and NIKI marks the first European low-cost airline alliance.

NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH has 350 employees. It carried around 1.7 million passengers in 2007. NIKI currently operates one Airbus A321, six Airbus A320s and two Airbus A319s (with 150 seats). The fleet is set to increase to a total of 30 aircraft by 2015.
